Moyosore Martins—The journey

2023 was a year of many firsts for Moyo! He had his first solo exhibition in New York at the Crossing Art Gallery in Chelsea. He had a successful solo exhibition entitled Móyòsóré Martins : Now, They Know... in Beirut at Gallerie Tanit in collaboration with Teal Contemporary. His works sold at auction for the first time at both Sotheby’s and Phillips New York. He was featured in multiple international art fairs including Scope Miami in December with Mitochondria Gallery. His work was placed with international collectors around the world including the US, Switzerland, Italy, France, The Emirates, Lebanon, and China. There were favorable articles and reviews (see links below).

Shepherding an artist into the world—helping them navigate their way to success is a incredibly fulfilling—especially when there is synergy. We are all experiencing Moyo’s rapid yet solid ascent in the world of art. He has gone from an unknown artist to one of the most exciting artists emerging today. In our third year together, Moyo continues to entrance collectors around the world.

Britt Boutros-Ghali Joins TrafficArts for International Representation

TRAFFICARTS is exceptionally excited and honored to include internationally celebrated abstract artist Britt Boutros-Ghali in our growing roster of Contemporary Artists. We are showcasing Britt's prolific work, which continues in the tradition of the abstract expressionist giants, such as Helen Frankenthaler and Joan Mitchel, from the 1950s forward.

Britt, Norwegian by origin, has spent the last five decades living and working in Egypt, where she is an integral part of the country's artistic community. Her art, characterized by vibrant colors and large-scale paintings, draws inspiration from Egypt's rich and exotic culture. Employing "action painting," her work embodies a sense of spontaneity and creativity coming from within.

TRAFFIC hosted a celebration and trunk show for Art to Wear by J. Hopenstand

December was a month of many celebrations. Traffic founder Michelle Edelman and her husband opened her home to celebrate the next creative generation of Hopenstands. As a tribute to their great grandfather, Jacques Hopenstand, Rémi and Renaud have created a collection of artist belts working with some of the most exciting contemporary artists whom they most admire. The artists are given carte blanche to create the buckle that is then edited in 20 pieces numbered and signed. A box also created by the artists encloses and protects the creations.

Each new collaboration opens new perspectives and a different approach on the project, thus it was decided to invite very diverse artists and not to focus on one specific technique or craft to enrich even more the collection. It’s also a great opportunity to challenge their Swiss and French craftsmen to push further their talent and develop new techniques.

Wearable Art has the fascinating characteristic to be at the edge of painting, sculpture and performance and to radically change the viewpoint on Art as not only the observer can move freely in space but also the piece itself.

These exceptional pieces are exhibited in different international Art fairs and private events. A is also about what lies Ahead, a future in which craft and passion can intertwine. The historic legacy, however, remains present, as Art and Artisan craftsmanship share an etymology and above all a common element of expertise, technique and quality.
