Picasso Art Gallery Opens Britt Boutros-Ghali’s Landmark Homecoming Exhibition Whispers of a New Dawn
December 6-21, 2025
Following two years of international focus and acclaim, the celebrated abstract expressionist returns to Egypt with a powerful new body of work — created with the excitement, emotion, and devotion of an artist coming home.
Cairo, Egypt — December 2, 2025 — Picasso Art Gallery is proud to announce the opening of Whispers of a New Dawn, a landmark solo exhibition by the iconic abstract expressionist Britt Boutros-Ghali, opening Saturday, December 6 at the gallery’s Zamalek space. This highly anticipated homecoming marks Britt’s first solo exhibition in Egypt in over two years, following a period of intense international momentum that has solidified her status as one of the region’s most influential contemporary artists.
Whispers of a New Dawn invites audiences into a world where colour becomes a living force, where organic forms echo plants, corals, and underwater life, and where nature speaks through radiant, pulsating movement. The exhibition celebrates the quiet power of growth and the promise held in every new beginning. Each canvas is a luminous whisper — a reminder that life unfolds, evolves, and continually reaches toward the light.
A Celebrated Global Career, Rooted in Egypt
During her prolific 65-year career, Britt has exhibited in leading museums, cultural institutions, and international galleries. Over the past two years, her work has been featured in major solo exhibitions in London and Berlin, capturing the attention of collectors, curators, and global audiences.
Most recently, Britt was deeply honored to have two large paintings selected for the official launch of the Grand Egyptian Museum on November 1, 2025, an event attended by world leaders, dignitaries and royalty. Her vibrant, evocative works continue to hang across Egypt’s most esteemed homes, embassies, hotels, and institutions.
Despite her global success, Britt’s artistic journey remains intimately tied to Egypt — the country she calls home and the place that has shaped her visual language for more than five decades.
A Historic Relationship with Picasso Art Gallery
For more than 40 years, Picasso Art Gallery has proudly showcased Britt’s work and supported her artistic evolution since her earliest years in Egypt. The gallery has been a steadfast partner in celebrating her creative voice, presenting her work to generations of collectors and art lovers.
“This exhibition feels like a homecoming of the heart,” says Britt BG. “After two years of focusing on international shows, creating this collection in Egypt — for Egypt — has been a deeply emotional experience. These paintings carry the energy, spirit, and gratitude I feel for this country, which has given me so much inspiration and love throughout my adult life.”
Gallery owner Ibrahim Abdelrahman adds:
“Britt is one of the most important artists in Egypt’s contemporary art history. For decades, we have witnessed her ability to transform nature, emotion, and spiritual energy into colour and form. “Whispers of a New Dawn” is not only a new chapter in her artistic journey — it is a celebration of her profound contribution to Egypt’s cultural landscape.”
About the Exhibition: A New Dawn of Colour, Life & Hope
