We are delighted to announce our worldwide representation of French-Argentine artist Olympe Racana-Weiler.
Based in Paris, Racana-Weiler works across oil painting, printmaking and sculpture. Her richly layered compositions move fluidly between abstraction and figuration, combining color, gesture and texture with a profound sensitivity to movement. Influenced by dance, she approaches the canvas as an active, physical space in which forms emerge, dissolve and reappear.
At a moment when the boundaries between abstraction and figuration are being reconsidered—and when women artists are being more fully recognized within the history and future of gestural painting—Racana-Weiler’s distinctive voice feels especially relevant. Her work is materially rigorous, instinctive and unmistakably contemporary.
